Azia Rug Gallery was founded by my dad, Bruce Saberi, nearly 50 years ago. Selling rugs was a way to pay for College and also a way to share his native country’s art with the West. After receiving a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Math he went to work for Volkswagen and Audi. His passion for rugs drove him to quit and open up his first store in Germany. His operation became very successful, but after I was born (25 years later), he decided it was time to seek new opportunity in America.
Starting over is never easy, but my mom and dad were very ambitious and worked very hard to get us to where we are today. However, that journey was not made alone. We had many supportive and faithful customers who helped build a strong foundation to the success of our business. My husband Jed and I have worked side by side with my dad for the past 13 years and have learned a great deal from him. At the end of 2014, my dad decided it was time to pass on the torch and retire.
Now, Azia Rug Gallery is a second generation family owned and operated business. Jed and I are the current owners. We both graduated from The Ohio State University and love to live and work right here in Columbus Ohio. We have a great appreciation for the arts and feel that we are highly skilled interior experts. We have worked hard to evolve what my parents left for us so that our business can continue to grow and prosper every day.
